A virtuoso trio of violinists, brothers Ernesto, Alberto and Luis reimagine and redefine contemporary Mexican music by blending it with jazz, rock and classical with folk music. This cross-section has been described by USA Today as “A crazy ball of sound: Mexican coastal traditions meet Sam Cooke in the Bronx!” Since the release of their 2012 debut album, the Villalobos Brothers have performed on stages from India to Russia, from Latin America to Lincoln Center, and they’ve collaborated with Arturo O’Farrill, Antonio Sanchez and many others. Joined by guitarist/artistic director Humberto Flores, drummer Rosa Aliva and bassist Leo Sherman, the brothers’ original compositions masterfully blend elements of jazz, rock, classical and Mexican folk to deliver a powerful message of love, hope, brotherhood and social justice.
